The VP, Learning Sciences and Psychometrics is a new role for HMH encompassing learning design, assessment design, and analytics including psychometrics. It is important that the candidate understand the preK-12 teaching and learning context, educational research as well as curriculum and instructional design principles. The candidate for this role must have experience as a practicing psychometrician, have a strong measurement background, and ideally have experience with IRT, MIRT, ECD and predictive analytics. While having this deep expertise, the candidate will be interested in applying these skills to assessment about, of, for learning, and teaching. However, this candidate will have an influential role within product design and ideation and needs to be a strong verbal communicator and collaborator across the enterprise. He/she will need to bring their expertise to bear on a range of curriculum and platform design capabilities. He/she will be beginning a new discipline and team at HMH and will be interested in leading change and evangelizing the discipline and its purpose and power within HMH as well as externally.
